Remembering Pooran Alfred Persaud - neighbor and friend. May you Rest Easy.
Deep condolences to Alfred's family. I am so sorry to learn of this loss from our village community.
The last time I last time I met and interacted with Pooran Alfred Persaud, was many years ago while he was still a resident of the village of Domburg, on the island of Wakenaam, in the Essequibo Islands, Guyana. I had returned home for my father's funeral. He was happy to see me and could not do enough to welcome me home. He offered me water coconuts and lots of gaff.
He will be remembered as living a simple life. We lived not very far from each other and operated as true neighbors should operate; looking out for the welfare of each other.
My condolences, and that of my family, to his family as well as to his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Alfred will be remembered as an ordinary individual who lived a simple life. Despite his down-to-earth nature, he managed to touch the lives of many people who came into contact with him.
Rest in Peace Alfred, your work and time here on earth is done. We will not forget you.
From Aubrey A. Thompson & The Thompson family formerly of Domburg, Wakenaam.
