Dear Mr. Medina,
I was a good friend of Christina's at SBJL, I really looked up to her and her sister Leticia, I remember them fondly and can still picture them, Christina in her bright yellow SBJL shirt and navy blue vest and rolled up skirt; her hair jelled back into a pony tail as was the style at the time. She is frozen in my memory in that way, laughing loudly, full of energy, pointing out something that only her eye would catch, leading us with her strong spirit and tenacity. I loved Christina very much. She was so stylish, I remember we all wore thin head bands and platform shoes in 7th grade at her recommendation, we all listened to her music choices and loved hearing Leticias advice via Christina. In many ways, I wanted to have so much of her leadership, her boisterous beautiful personality. She taught me so much.
I wanted to thank you as well for the home you had, you set in my mind a gold standard of family life. I always loved coming to your home, I always felt so welcome and cared for, Mrs. Medina's words were always so kind and you always had the coolest toys, your home was a center for us. thank you for that. I am so saddened to hear of her passing. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through. My love to you and Leticia, you are both in my prayers today and always, thank you for bringing such an amazing force into the world, for sharing her exuberant beauty with us, it was an honor to have had her as a friend.
Love always,
Stephanie Ramirez
